When
Carolina Freight Corporation was acquired by a competitor and the
information technology center was closed, the founding partners formed
their own company, purchased the software that they had developed over the
past 20 years and began offering these same services to
Crouse Cartage Company,
a Russell 2000
transportation company, headquartered in the Midwest. This basically
required starting from ground zero, which included:

Construction of a new data center

Developing the specifications and purchasing of a new mainframe computer

Establishing a wide-area communications network for a multi-state
operation

Purchasing, configuring and installing all PC workstations for the company’s
general office and 60+ remote
locations

Purchasing, configuring and installing Windows servers, as
required

Configuring Exchange email server and all users

Setting up a remote operation for the company’s general office complex,
which included remote printing as well as remote processing
- Training all of the company’s
personnel in the use of the system and
providing the same support and training on the
desktop computer hardware & software

Staffing and running a 24x7 operation

Making all the necessary system and application changes and
enhancements, as required

Developing PC based applications for customer coding, document image
retrieval, rating automation and terminal operation performance

Developing and integrating a full document imaging system

Developing Internet solutions to address and meet corporate and customer
requirements for information maintained in a variety of legacy systems
